About Us

Our History

The idea of starting a school in the Prampram township came about when in 2007 Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ankrah first visited the community and realized that they were several children of school going age who were out of school and were just loitering about the town. Many of the females were school either carrying their own babies or were pregnant at very young ages. Out of compassion, therefore, the couple-Founders took a firm decision to bring quality education to the door step of the people. There were not many school in Prampram by then.

The aim and objective of the school was to provide education at an affordable cost for the less privileged children of the Prampram community who although were of school going age, were out of school.

Mr. Samuel Ankrah and his wife, Mrs. Agnes Ankrah begun preparations for the establishment of a school. The school was officially registered in 2010 and on the 3rd of September, 2011 an official ceremony was held on the site of the campus to formally open the Seaside International School.

Our Challenges

Out of the five pupils who started the school, two of them were the children of the founders and therefore did not pay fees. It was therefore a difficult situation, as the couple who were the founders, had to struggle to raise money to pay teachers consistently without default. The number of teachers in addition to auxiliary staff far outweighed the school’s financial capacity.

Auxiliary staff included a cook, two gardeners, a school nurse a security man

Very early in the life of the school there was a high turnover of cooks as a result of the school’s location.

Proximity to the Atlantic Ocean mean constant replacement of metal and electrical equipment such as taps, sinks, air-conditioners, playground equipment, toys, furniture, and constant maintenance of cars with anti-rust painting of some equipment. The high cost of maintenance was another huge problem the school had to grapple with.

Sports
The school organizes Internal Olympics in term one of every academic year. For the involvement of parents, a second Olympics is organized in the third term of the academic year.

Staff
Besides hired or employed staff, both the Founder and co-founder do some teaching of some classes. Mr. Samuel Ankrah is very committed in taking up worship services for the school each Wednesday morning. Mrs. Agnes Ankrah on the other hand teaches English in addition to other subject on the Cambridge Curriculum.

1. A ship – represents our proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. It symbolizes the idea that knowledge cuts across frontiers.
2. The Cross – this represents the religious stance of the institution and the redeeming benefits of Christ.
3. The Bible/book – biblical knowledge is key in our training. (to raise children in the fear of the Lord)
It represents the unique and exceptional education which is beyond expectation to be acquired by all learners at the Seaside International School i.e.
– Cambridge Assessment International Education
– British Council, Ghana
– PSGN … Partner Schools Global Network
